some further time?” “yeah, absolutely, if you start something you should finish it.” and that’s exactly what tex-dot intends to do. abc-seven confirms the i-10 expansion project in west el paso is back on track. new information tonight just days after a mexican company said it could not finish the work it was contracted to do. tex-dot telling us another company will take over the project and it should be completed on time. we’re talking about all that work scheduled to happen on i-10 between resler and executive. the state is building new ramps, more lanes and even access roads. let’s get that new information from abc-seven’s josie ortegon… bob, estela. tx dot’s district engineer tells us–the project is still a go. in a couple of weeks, crews will be out and construction will continue: “nats” “it’s good news for pasoans because we need a bigger freeway, obviously” “nats” “the targe to get people out working by july 6th or july 7th. ” to the delight o westside commuters–tx dot is moving forward. “nats” construction came to screeching halt after the original contractor, tradeco infrustructure, unexpectedly pulled out of the $154- million dollar project. tx dot officials would not comment on why the mexican-based company pulled out, but did they say they do have a plan in place. the surety contractor, zurich–will take over as general contractor. they will then assign a completion contractor and get crews back on the streets. stand-up “th contractor is still responsible for the original plan–the reconstruction of i-10. that includes adding new lanes, ramps and an access road on both sides of the freeway from executive to resler.” “they’ required to finish project for original price within original timeline.” drivers can breathe another sigh of relief, –because tx dot was running ahead of schedule–beilek says construction won’t last a day longer than the anticipated four years to complete. “we don’ believe this delay of 3-4 weeks will change completion time of project.” “wihtout the delay, it’ll be good thing, at least all the construction will be constructed as accordingly, it’ll alleviate that for them.” reporting live from west el paso, jo, abc7. and josie, some good news for the westside commuters… tx-dot says construction will begin by next month. so everything is still set to be finished by february of 20-19. live traffic coverage now… as el pasoans and
