Police Say Man Killed In Head-On Collision Was Driving The Wrong Way
Police tell ABC-7 the man killed in a crash early Sunday morning was driving the wrong way.
Investigators said Brandon Lugo, 24, was heading west in a Jeep Cherokee when he collided head-on with a semi-truck near I-10 East and Transmountain.
Police do not yet know whether Lugo was speeding or driving drunk.
The driver and passenger in the semi-truck were not injured, but one of the truck’s fuel tanks ruptured.
Police closed that portion of I-10 while crews cleaned up the truck’s spilled diesel fuel.
According to investigators, this is the 24th traffic related death of 2015 compared to 21 at this time last year.
