Alleged Drunk Driver Blamed for Artcraft Crash

accused of seriously injuring a woman and two teenage boys. another teen is doing o-k. in the last hour, abc-seven confirmed the boys are students at canutillo high school. good evening and thank you for joing us on abc- seven at six tonight. i’m estela casas. and i’m rick cabrera. this is a story our round the clock news crew first brought you as breaking news … … yesterday on good morning el paso from artcraft and doniphan. since then we’ve learned a lot about the ugly crash and about the man police say caused it. open it’s new information at six … let’s get right to abc-seven’s darren let’s get right to abc-seven’s darren hunt for what he’s learned since our five o’clock newscast. rick and estela, i spoke with canutillo independent school district superintendent pedro galaviz in just the past hour. he told me the three teens, ages 18, 15 and 14 are all students at canutillo high school … and they are all expected to fully recover. one has already been released from the hospital. el paso police emailed abc-7 this mugshot a couple of hours ago. officials say 34-year-old jimmy villanueva of anthony, new mexico, is charged with three counts of intoxication assault. police say villanueva’s pick-up turned in front of 45-year-old araceli solis, who was driving a white honda civic headed the opposite way on doniphan.. our crew on the scene saw the victims being pulled out of the wreckage. the car was so mangled, rescue crews had to cut a hole in the car’s roof to reach them.. galaviz told me he has visited the teens in the hospital. “last night i went and visite two of them, the 10th grader and 12th grader, the ninth grader was released and the mom was still being handled in the er and again anytime you see kids in the hospital its not good, rather than a classroom.” police did release the name of the 12th grader, 18 year old gilbert solis. galaviz told me there will be prayers for the injured teens at tonight’s canutillo homecoming parade and at friday’s homecoming game at the school. but again, the good news is, he does expect them to all fully recover from their injuries. rick and estela. also new at six … the abc-seven i- team did some digging… and within the last half hour… jail records show a man with the same name and date of birth … arrested in el paso for d-w-i related offenses in 1998, 2012 and 2013. … and public intoxication in 2006. also accused
