Student tries to set himself on fire at Irvin High School
A high school student was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after trying to burn himself.
It happened during 2nd period at Irvin High School.
A spokesman with the El Paso Independent School District told ABC-7 the 16-year-old tried to burn himself with a lighter.
He was taken to University Medical Center to be treated.
The extent of his injuries is not known.
The district says no other students were ever in danger.
