Woman killed in Tuesday crash on I-10 identified

El Paso Police have released the name of the woman killed in a traffic collision Tuesday afternoon.

She has been identified as 72-year-old Magdalena Duran.

The collision happened at about 2:30 p.m. On I-10 West near the Trans Mountain exit in Northwest El Paso.

Duran was the passenger in a car that was stopped due to traffic.

The driver of a pickup, 36-year-old Juan Ortiz of Las Cruces, turned into the left lane and hit the car Duran was in, which was then hit by a third car.

Duran was taken to University Medical Center where she died.

The drivers of both vehicles were treated for minor injuries.

Police have not said whether the driver of the pickup will face charges.
