Deadly shooting suspect charged with Murder

in that northeast manhunt and standoff with police yesterday is behind bars today.. formally charged with murder, and more. abc-seven’s complete coverage now with reporter andrew j. polk. rick and estela, 25- year old daniel athens has formally been charged by authorities… for the death of 56-year old hector jimenez – and related incidents. athens has been charged on four counts – murder, aggravated kidnapping, criminal attempted murder, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. he’s being held on a one million dollar bond in the el paso county jail. he was finally apprehended after an hour long standoff with police and border patrol units yesterday afternooon and today, we’re learning he has a number of other incidents on his record… including a pending armed robbery case, theft, posession, speeding… and even urinating on the alamo back in 2012, a felony. it illustrates a troubled history for the suspect, whose actions left residents shaken. “well it’s kind of actually scary because i have younger kids, and i don’t want them involved in none of this. it’s kind of hard for me to let them go outside knowing there’s a fugitive running around. i spoke with other residents in that mobile home park today. they didn’t want to be on camera, but told me athens sometimes stayed with his grandfather, just a few lots down the road from that shed … they told me they’d see him doing yard work and that he sometimes had problems with park management.. rick and estela? a 15-year-old boy accused of leading police on a chase
