2 killed in Hudspeth County crash

Two people died and another person was injured Tuesday night in a three-car crash in Hudspeth County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Texas Highway Patrol Troopers said the crash was reported around 9 p.m. on Interstate 10 West near mile marker 134. The location is about 5 miles west of Van Horn.The driver of a Nissan car, 24-year-old Jeffrey Turner, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 33-year-old woman in the car was also killed, although her identity has not been released. Both were from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Investigators said the female passenger was not wearing her seat belt.

Texas Department of Public Safety investigators said Turner tried to make a left turn from the right lane and cut in front of a semitrailer traveling in the left lane. The two vehicles collided.

The driver of the semi was injured.
