Las Cruces man accused of flashing 2 children sitting on park bench

A man whose home and the playground of a school are separated by only a chain-link fence was arrested for allegedly urinating while children played nearby.

Abraham Morales, 34, lives on the 1200 block of McFie Avenue. His backyard is adjacent to MacArthur Elementary School’s playground.

On Monday, two elementary school students were about 10 feet away on a playground bench when they saw Morales urinating while facing the chain link fence, police said. A teacher also witnessed the alleged incident.

Morales told officers he had to urinate outside because he could not open the door to his home.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated indecent exposure and one misdemeanor count of indecent exposure. He was booked into the Doa Ana County Detention Center where he is initially being held without bond.
