Water main break floods alley in Central El Paso

Fire crews were called out to a central El Paso neighborhood Tuesday morning after a water main ruptured.

The incident was reported around 5:45 a.m. near the intersection of Russell Street and Nashville Avenue, which is about a block north of Austin High School. Water could be seen spewing up from a nearby alley.

Nashville Avenue is being blocked off. If you wish to avoid the scene, you can use Mobile Ave and Stevens streets as alternate routes.

As of 7 a.m., El Paso Water Utilities is working to shut off the water.
