EPFD battles blaze early Thursday morning on the eastside

Some residents in east El Paso had to be evacuated from their home early Thursday morning after a fire.

According to the El Paso Fire Department (EPFD) the fire was reported around 1:30 a.m. at the 11800 block of Stone Castle. It began in the backyard.

EPFD also tweeted that a total of ten units responded to the scene. The fire was under control just after 2 a.m.

EPFD also said the neighboring home was evacuated as a precaution when the fire began to spread.

According to emergency dispatchers no one was hurt.
