Las Cruces Country Music Festival begins Friday

Fans of country music are getting their cowboy hats and cowboy boots ready for the Las Cruces Country Music Festival.

The three-day festival, sponsored by ABC-7, will feature performances by Lee Ann Womack and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, David Nail, Cam, Rick Trevino, Aaron Watson, Bri Bagwell and Josh Grider.

Bagwell is from the City of the Crosses, and is sure to perform her country hit, “Las Cruces.”

This is the 4th annual Las Cruces Country Music Festival, and two stages will be set up in the area around Main Street and Las Cruces Avenue in downtown Las Cruces.

Festival preparations are already underway. Several streets will be closed from 6 a.m. Friday until noon Sunday. They include: Las Cruces Avenue between Church and Main Streets; North Church Street from Las Cruces Avenue north to the Main Street roundabout; and Hadley Avenue, between Church and Campo streets will be closed. The 2-story parking structure behind City Hall on north Campo Street will be open for public parking after 5 p.m. and during the weekend.
