Jennifer Han retains world title by unanimous decision

EL PASO, Texas – Jennifer Han will retain her IBF Featherweight world title belt after defeating Calista Silgado by unanimous decision Friday night at Southwest University Park.

The crowd of 4,312 erupted when Han was announced as the winner Friday night. But there was little doubt as any impartial observer would have clearly seen Han dominated from start to finish.

All three judges gave each round to Han as she cruised to a unanimous decision.

Han’s record improved to 14-3-1 all time.

Silgado, the sixth-ranked contender in the world, replaced Lilian Martinez on the card one week prior to the fight after Martinez failed to appear at a visa interview.

Han defeated Helen Joseph in September of 2015 to earn her world title, becoming the first boxing world champion from El Paso.
