UPDATE: Police identify pedestrian hit, killed by pickup

Police identified a man who was run over and killed by a truck early Saturday morning in Central El Paso.

He was 60-year-old Leeland Gregg. He as killed and a woman was injured after they were struck by a truck about 1 a.m. Saturday on the 1100 block of San Marcial.

El Paso police said Gregg and 51-year-old Kathy Parry had just left a local bar when Gregg opened the door for Parry on the driver’s side then walked around the back to the passenger’s side. Police said Parry put the truck in reverse and hit Gregg. She got out of the truck to help, but forgot to put the truck in park and was also struck by the truck. The truck continued to reverse until it struck a nearby fence.

Gregg was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Parry was treated for minor injuries at UMC. Upon her release from the hospital, she was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and was booked into the El Paso County Jail.
