Some YISD staffers to get raises

Some employees in the Ysleta Independent School District will be getting extra cash over the summer.

The Board of Trustees voted on Thursday to give a 1.5% raise and a $450 stipend before the holidays. The salary increase is part of next school year’s budget. The raise also ups the starting pay for a first year teacher from $47,000 to $47,395.

To receive the payment, employees must be full time and employed with the district from August 22nd to December 21st of this year.
