Police arrest two men for allegedly driving drunk, speeding

Police officers arrested two drivers allegedly speeding and driving drunk early Wednesday.

Both men were charged with Driving While Intoxicated. The arrests were made in different parts of the city.

The first incident occurred on the 1700 block of Zaragoza when officers stopped Diego Garcia, the driver of a 2008 Lexus. Garcia was allegedly speeding at 85 miles per hour in a 50 miles per hour zone. After being pulled over, police said they found him to be intoxicated. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $600 bond.

The second incident occurred when police stopped Mark Chamacero-Baker, the driver of a red 2004 Ford-150. Chamacero-Baker was allegedly speeding at 70 miles per hours in a posted 50 miles per hour zone on N. Mesa.

Police said Chamacero-Baker was also driving drunk. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail and his bond was set at $750.
