10 killed, 29 injured after bus crashes into cargo truck south of Juarez

At least 10 people died and another 29 injured when a passenger bus on its way to Ciudad Juarez crashed into a cargo truck early Friday morning, officials said.

The crash happened near Villa Ahumada, about 70 miles south of Juarez, at 5:30 a.m., according to the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation in Mexico.

Most passengers were coming from Torreon, Coahuila.

Federal police assisted in the rescue and everyone was taken to the Hospital 66 of the IMSS and the General Hospital in Juarez.

Officials said the driver of the bus was speeding when it crashed into the cargo truck.
