San Pedro Mission in Las Mesa repeatedly desecrated over past month

The San Pedro Mission has been repeatedly desecrated over the last month, the Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces said Friday.

“Thieves have desecrated the Host, and destroyed the altar and portions of the church building,” the Diocese stated in a news release.

Vandals have targeted the mission every Thursday for the past month.

Las Cruces Catholic Bishop Oscar Cantu will hold a Mass at the mission on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. He wants the community to “pray for the culprits and move forward towards reconciliation and healing.”
