Police: No threat at DACC East Mesa Campus, classes to resume at 4 p.m.

Officer’s with the Las Cruces Police Department and NMSU Police Department have swept the East Mesa Campus of the Dona Ana Community College and found no threat.

The campus has been reopened and will resume normal operations at 4 p.m.

Earlier today, police were investigating a threat left on a note at the campus by the new Wal-mart.

“Staff has been told of the threat and asked to go home or shelter in place,” read an email sent earlier in the day by from Arthur Edward Binder, Director of Communication and Development for Doa Ana Community College.

An email sent to NMSU staff earlier today stated, “Anyone wishing to leave campus is free to do so. Those who choose to remain are encouraged to shelter in place until police finish sweeping the facility.”
