Police identify man killed in Hondo Pass crash
Police identified the man killed in a crash Sunday morning as 39-year-old Juan Martinez Sanchez.
Police were called to the 4800 block of Hondo Pass at 5:20 a.m. when Martinez lost control of his vehicle, went off the road and smashed into a utility pole. Martinez was ejected from the truck and was pronounced dead on scene.
Special traffic investigators say speed was a factor in the deadly crash.
This is the 38th traffic death of 2016 compared to 29 at this time last year.
