LJ Shamaley back in business; buys Jack Key Nissan and Kia

The Jack Key Kia and Jack Key Nissan car dealerships will now be called Kia of Las Cruces and Nissan of Las Cruces.

The name change reflects new ownership under LJ Shamaley, a former proprietor of the Shamaley Ford and GMC Buick in the El Paso and Las Cruces areas.

The dealership will officially change its name on September 1st, 2016. Jack Key still owns other dealerships in Alamogordo and Deming.

The Shamaley dealerships in El Paso are no longer owned by the Shamaley family. Shamaley Ford and Shamaley Dodge, Buick & GMC were bought buy Group 1 Automotive, a national publicly traded company five years ago.

LJ Shamaley said he hopes to extend a positive car buying experience to the southern New Mexico region.

“We recognized an opportunity to get back into the car business and be able to make a difference with our way of doing business,” he said, “We have always been a family business with a reputation of being fair to our customers and we look forward to bringing that atmosphere to the Las Cruces and El Paso markets again with Kia and Nissan.”
