UTEP soccer pulls out dramatic 4-3 win at Charlotte

Charlotte, N.C. – UTEP’s Kennadie Chaudhary scored with only 19 seconds left in the game to help the Miners knock off Charlotte in a Conference USA matchup Friday night in Charlotte.

Four different Miners scored including Jeanna Mullen, Aleah Davis, Yesenia Contreras and Chaudhary.

Alyssa Palacios, who garnered C-USA Goalie of the Week honors multiple times this season added a career-high nine saves in the UTEP win.

Charlotte had not lost at home this season until the Miners knocked them off Friday. The Miners recorded fewer shots, shots on goal, and corner kicks, but still managed to come out on top.

“What a game tonight to have seven goals and score the game winner with 19 seconds left,” said UTEP head coach Kevin Cross. “We had a great team effort tonight and stayed positive and composed all game long.”

UTEP next plays Old Dominion on the road at 10:30 a.m. MT on Sunday.
