Police arrest 5th suspect in Anthony Trejo killing
The police department’s Crimes Against Persons (CAP) unit arrested and charged a fifth person in the killing of 33-year old Anthony Trejo.
Friday, October 7, 2016, police arrested 20-year old Adrian Herrera after he was deported from Mexico. Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force met with Herrera at the bridge and took him into custody on a murder charge, police said.
Herrera had warrants for Probation violation of Burglary of a Habitation and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $1.5 million bond.
Herrera’s mug shot will be released when police feel the photo will not compromise the on-going investigation.
Police also arrested and charged Roberto Favela, 33; Romuldo Trujillo, 41; Steven Ramirez, 29; Erlinda Lujan, 36; and Adrian Herrera, 20; in connection with the murder investigation.
Court documents obtained by ABC-7 state police spoke to three witnesses who said Anthony was killed and his body was disposed in Mexico.
