Jury finds man guilty of trying to hire hit man to kill wife

A jury found the man accused of trying to hire a hit man to kills his wife guilty of “Capital Murder while Remuneration.”

Police said an undercover agent posing as a hit man said Carl Lamb tried to hire him to murder Lamb’s wife.

In February 2015, Lamb was behind bars when he offered the agent posing as a hit man $150-thousand dollars to “take out his wife.”

Lamb agreed to release his personal items while jailed, which included a set of keys, credit cards, and a cell phone that would help the hit man track and kill the victim.

The agent told police Lamb also provided his wife’s address and a description of the vehicle she drove.

An arrest warrant obtained by ABC-7 at the time states investigators met with Lamb’s wife to make sure all the information they obtained was correct. The wife confirmed the legitimacy of the credit card numbers, phone numbers and even the exact times her husband said she would be at home.

Court documents state Lamb said there would be life insurance money that would be collected if his wife was dead.

A judge will decide Lamb’s punishment. A sentencing date has not been set.
