Police investigate murder in Far East El Paso

Police are investigating a murder in Far East El Paso.

It’s unclear what happened, but the El Paso Police Department tells ABC-7 its Crimes Against Persons Unit was at the 3600 block of Grand Bahamas Sunday.

“It’s just unfortunate something like this would take place,” Lexi Flournoi, who lives across the street from the home, said.

Caution tape wrapped around her front door Sunday afternoon, blocking off the street where police cars, the El Paso Command unit and officers stood.

“They had to be at least 60 plus years old. You wouldn’t think something like this would take place in their household,” Flournoi said about the husband and wife living there.

Police have not released what happened, but some neighbors told ABC-7 they heard a loud bang Saturday night.

“I heard a bang like a gunshot. I asked my wife, is that a gun shot?” Tony Aguilar said. “So we came outside, we didn’t see anything. It wasn’t until 8:30 this morning, I see all the cars and tape.”

Flournoi said she saw the husband who lives there in the back of a police car Sunday afternoon. She said she saw the couple every so often, and described their demeanor.

“For him it seems like he was very intimidating,” she said. “Sometimes she would see him coming like if she was waving or engaging us and if he would come she would look kind of startled.”

“It was only those two in the home. so what else are you supposed to believe besides he killed his wife?” she added.

Police have not yet released the name of the victim or suspect in this case.
