El Paso, Doa Ana County Sheriff’s Departments celebrate National Night Out Tuesday

Both El Paso and Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Departments will be partaking in the National Night Out event Tuesday evening.

The goal of the event is to connect law enforcement with the community they protect, by also promoting crime prevention.

Each department will be holding their own activities in El Paso and Las Cruces.

Both are free and open to the public.

In Las Cruces, families can attend the event from 6 to 9 p.m. along Main Street Downtown.

There, members Special Response Team, Bomb Squad, Victim Advocates, Community Outreach Division and Mounted Patrol will be available to answer questions and showcase specialty vehicles, gear and robotic equipment.

The El Paso event will also be running 6 to 9 p.m. at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

There will be music and live entertainment, kids activities, food trucks, plus health and safety awareness booths.
