A few areas of heavy rain still possible today

Thursday weather update:

Moisture is expected to remain in the area today and start to diminish late this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms could still lead to heavy rain and minor flooding today. We will begin a drier weather pattern Friday and Saturday as high pressure aloft re-builds.

El Paso: Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. High today: 86 degrees. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with a 30% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Low tonight: 68 degrees. East winds 5 to 10.

Las Cruces: Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. High: 83 degrees. East winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with a 30% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Low: 65 degrees. East winds 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday re-cap:

We had reports of pea sized hail and flooding in certain parts of the city Wednesday evening including the NE and Lower Valley just NE of Fabens. Las Cruces also experienced some moderate to heavy rain late Wednesday night.

We will continue to see an increase in moisture,with widespread showers and thunderstorms overnight and into early Thursday morning. Heavy rain and flash flooding are possible. Some areas could see up to 1-2″ of rainfall along with gusty winds and small hail.Rainfall and thunderstorms should come to an end just before Paso and Las Cruces:
