Remembering Juan Gabriel on the anniversary of his death

El Paso and Juarez will celebrate the life of one of the borderland’s favorite sons.

Juan Gabriel died just hours before his performance at the Don Haskins Center on August 28th 2016.

A year later, “El Divo de Juarez” will be remembered with a parade, concerts and events on both sides of the border.

On Friday night, a concert will be held at 6 P.M. at La Fe Cultural and Technology Center on 721 S. Ochoa Street. Omar Dey, a Juan Gabriel impersonator will perform as well as La Guitarras De La Fe.

Throughout his long career, the music icon had many promoters including El Pasoan Francisco Cabral who has organized a special concert Saturday night.

Juanga will be celebrated during “Remembering Juan, One year later.” The tribute concert will be held at 8 P.M. Aug. 26th at the Plaza Theatre.

Spanish singer Shaila Dúrcal will perform alongside Sinfonia Juvenil de Mexico and a mariachi ensemble in a tribute to Juan Gabriel.
