Police recover stolen car, arrest alleged auto thief wanted on slew of charges

The police department’s Gang Unit arrested an alleged auto thief wanted on a slew of charges, police officials said.

Jahmaad Rashim Williams, 32, was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

The Gang Unit officers allegedly saw Williams driving a stolen 2014 Chevrolet Camaro in the 8700 block of Lawson the afternoon of Thursday, August 24th.

Police said Williams was stopped for operating a stolen vehicle and taken in custody.

Further investigation revealed Williams had warrants for Assault Causes Bodily Injury, Theft of Property Over $100 and Under $750, and four outstanding Municipal court warrants.

Police booked Williams into the El Paso County Jail on bonds totaling $13,291.
