Helen Ball teacher pinched, slapped and stepped on children, criminal complaint states

Investigators arrested a kindergarten teacher at Helen Ball Elementary Tuesday and charged her with Injury to a Child.

Online jail records state Olga Najera, aka Olga Sepulveda, was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on two counts of Injury to a Child.

Court documents say Najera pinched a child in the arm and scratched that child’s hands. Najera allegedly slapped, stepped and kicked another child, the document further states.

EDITOR’S NOTE: An earlier version of this article incorrectly implied the children were Najera’s students. Court documents do not confirm whether the children are indeed the accused’s students.

Daniel Escobar, a spokesman with the Socorro Independent School District, told ABC-7 Najera has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Escobar also told ABC-7 Najera was placed on leave in 2016 for employee misconduct and later reinstated as a teacher at Helen Ball.
