Three arrested during gang unit roundup

Three were arrested during patrol operations by the El Paso Police Department’s Gang Unit.

29-year old, Jermaine Cruse, was arrested after a traffic stop for expired Texas registration. Cruse was found to have twenty-one outstanding traffic warrants. He was booked on the outstanding warrants.

26-year-old, Todd Myers, was stopped for a defective headlight. Myers was found to have ten outstanding traffic warrants and one warrant for possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the El Paso County jail on bonds totaling $3,283.53

27-year-old, Erica Betancourt, was stopped for invalid Texas plates. the gang unit then found out that Betancourt dod not have permission to have the vehicle and had outstanding traffic warrants. She was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and booked into the El Paso County jail.

The Gang Unit has been actively seeking out wanted persons and saturating various parts of the city with uniformed patrols. The goal of these operations is reducing gang activity through pro-active enforcement and tracking down wanted persons.
