EPCSO hosts 3rd Annual Car Seat Check-up Event

Are you securing your child in a car seat correctly? The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says probably not. It says 4 out of 5 car seats are used incorrectly.

That’s why it is hosting the 3rd Annual car seat check-up event in partnership with University Medical Center of El Paso and the Texas Department of Transportation.

Sheriff’s Office deputies will be checking car seats for proper installation.

The free car event will take place Wednesday, October 11th, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy parking lot at 12501 Montana.

Deputies ask that you please bring your children with you, so Sheriff’s Office deputies can properly size the car.

Officials say there will be a limited amount of free car seats available at the check-up event and
they will be issued out on a first come first serve basis.

To qualify for a replacement car seat you must be a Texas resident and low income to qualify.
Please arrive early, lines may be cut before end time if needed.
