Two people seriously injured after Northeast El Paso crash involving semi-truck

Two people are seriously injured after a crash in Northeast El Paso Sunday involving a semi-truck.

It happened before 4 p.m. on Gateway North near US-54 and Sun Valley.

“He pushed (the car) from the stoplight, all the way down, about 50 yards,” said Elijah Gumbs, who witnessed the crash.

“We ran over there to see the collision and it was, it was bad,” said Marquis Mason, who lives near the crash.

Police dispatch tells ABC-7 two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Mason said there have been at least four accidents in the area the past two weeks.

“They’re all bad,” Mason said. “Like I’ll be in my house cooking or something, and I’ll hear a loud boom. I’ll run outside, it’s another accident in the same area.”

Special traffic investigators are still investigating the crash.
