Fort Bliss soldiers dies in non-combat related incident in Iraq

A soldier stationed at Fort Bliss died over the weekend in Iraq “as a result of a non-combat related incident,” the Department of Defense announced Monday.

Corporal Todd L. McGurn, of Riverside, California, died Nov. 25, 2017, in Baghdad, Iraq. CPL McGurn was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, the defense department said.

McGurn was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.

His death is under investigation.
