3 accused of stealing Christmas ornaments at San Jacinto Plaza

Three people were allegedly caught stealing Christmas ornaments from San Jacinto Plaza Monday night around 10 PM.

The El Paso Police Department said an undercover officer saw Steven Gutierrez, 19, run from the plaza to a getaway car with two large objects.

Victoria Elizabeth Rivera, 21, and Rocio Espinoza, 20, were allegedly waiting in the car at Oregon Street and drove off as soon as Gutierrez hopped in with the ornaments.

During the escape, the suspects in the car allegedly ran a red light. They were eventually stopped by police at I-10 and Copia.

The three were all arrested and charged with theft. They were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a bond of $227.
