Wrong-way driver causes deadly crash

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly Friday crash on I-10 near Clint.

The Sheriff’s Office said the two-vehicle crash happened at 10:30 p.m. on I-10 and Mile Marker 47.

According to investigators a tractor-trailer was driving east on I-10 when it collided with a pickup truck that was driving westbound on I-10 East.

The impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to burst into flames.

The Sheriff’s Office said one person was pronounced dead at the scene and another person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

I-10 between the Clint and Fabens exits was closed for hours, but has since reopened.
