USL team name contest extended by 15 days
MountainStar Sports Group says The Name the Team Contest for the El Paso United Soccer League has been extended by 15 days, now concluding at 11:59 pm on Friday, April 20, 2018.
“We are having fun engaging fans in the Borderplex with the team naming process. The responses we received to date are thoughtful and playful, and reflect the region’s enthusiasm for professional soccer. We’d like to hear more from the community, so we encourage everyone to participate,” said Alan Ledford, President of MountainStar Sports Group.
The second phase of the process will occur after the April 20th deadline, which is when the public will vote on the names. While voting and public input is taken into account, MountainStar Sports Group will ultimately have the final say. The team name is expected to be announced this summer.
The winner of the contest will receive two season seats for the 2019 season, two official jerseys, and will have a picture taken with the team during the 2019 season.
Participants must be 18 years or older to enter, however, those under 18 years of age are encouraged to participate as long as they and their parents or legal guardians comply with the official rules, which can be found here.
