Organizers are getting ready to reveal a new children’s book about El Paso

A not-for-profit project created GO, SÍ EL PASO! It is a children’s book that promotes childhood literacy, artistic expression, and cultural exchange.

In 2017, organizers held a contest for students of local high schools, to submit their artwork for the book. ABC-7 is told all the illustrations in the book are from local students. The book features 25 different landmarks throughout El Paso and is written in both English and Spanish.

The book will be revealed Saturday at 3 p.m. at the El Paso Museum of Art. There will be a giveaway with posters and sunglasses, a meet and greet with “The Amigo Man”, and award scholarships will be given to select students and classroom grants to art teachers.

Those with the project said about 1,000 copies of the book will be distributed to first grade classrooms across El Paso.
