Police arrest Ft. Bliss soldier accused of beating husky

El Paso police arrested a Ft. Bliss soldier accused of beating and torturing a 2-year-old female husky.

Twenty-year-old James Taylor Norris is charged with Cruelty to Non-Livestock Animals, after investigators said he threw the dog to the ground and beat her during a February 26 incident.

The man continued the same abusive behavior after the husky was returned to him, according to police.

Norris was booked into the El Paso County Jail.

Ft. Bliss confirmed that Norris is a specialist at the Army base.
