Chihuahuas complete sweep of Reno with 11-3 win Friday

The El Paso Chihuahuas completed a four-game sweep of the Reno Aces with an easy 11-3 victory Friday night.

The Chihuahuas scored the first 11 runs of the game in their most dominant performance of the series.

El Paso was bolstered by four runs in both the third and fourth innings as the team ran its record to 11-5 overall. Reno fell to 4-12 with the loss.

Brett Nicolas drove in five runs for the Chihuahuas on the night. He broke open the scoring with a three-run homer in the top of the third.

Franmil Reyes recorded a two-run homer in the top of the eighth to push El Paso’s lead to 11-0.

Five Chihuahuas recorded multiple hits, helping El Paso improve to 8-1 on the road this year.

Former Chihuahua Cody Decker, now playing for Reno, went 1-4 with an RBI single.

The Chihuahuas next travel to Las Vegas to begin a three-game series Saturday.
