KVIA wins multiple Texas AP Broadcasters awards

KVIA took home top awards in three major categories in the 2017 Texas Associated Press Broadcasters contest announced Saturday.

Across Texas, 37 TV stations and 11 radio stations submitted 789 entries to the competition.

There are multiple categories based on population.

In the Television II category, KVIA won best newscast, Good Morning El Paso won best morning newscast and “Born Addicted,” by Anchor Stephanie Valle, won best series.

The Associated Press is a not-for-profit news cooperative representing 1.400 newspapers and 5,000 broadcast stations in the United States.
