EPPD: Masked men rob lower valley supermarket with machete

Crime Stoppers of El Paso is asking the public for help identifying two masked men who robbed a Lower Valley supermarket with a machete.

The robbery happened at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Zeke’s Pueblo Mexicano Supermarket, which is located at 115 Ysleta Lane.

Police say one of the men was armed with a machete, and both men quickly made their way to the cashier. The men threatened the employee and demanded money. The suspects also demanded the cashier’s purse and earrings, police said. Another employee at the business was also threatened, and the suspects demanded that employee’s wallet.

Police say both suspects are described as Hispanic males, approximately 5’9″ in height, medium build, and both spoke Spanish and English. They also used white plastic bags to cover their shoes. The first suspect covered his face with a stocking.

The second suspect used a black and white striped beanie to cover his face. Anyone with any information is urged to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-8477 (TIPS) or online.

You will remain anonymous and, if your tip leads to an arrest, you can qualify for a cash reward.
