UPDATE: Police identify suspect, victim of early morning Northeast shooting

El Paso Police says an argument between a female couple led to a shooting that sent one of the females to the hospital.

Tia Chlois Hillary, 20, was identified as a suspect and was taken into custody after police arrived. She is being charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Dating Violence.

The victim, 18-year-old Deja Marie Duncan, was transported to Universal Medical Center where she is being treated for serious injuries.

Officers responded to a shooting at 7:35 a.m. Friday at 10800 McCombs Street in Northeast El Paso.

The victim was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen inside an apartment, according to police.

Authorities say the argument escalated and Hillary displayed a firearm and shot the victim.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
