VIDEO: Woman arrested after allegedly ramming police cars

It started April 13 when Las Cruces Police say Jasmine Allen used her car to ram two police cars, nearly hitting officers. An officer tracked Allen down to a house and arrested her, but it was not a calm arrest.

Police told ABC-7 Allen was indicted Thursday.

ABC-7 obtained video of the arrest from the officer’s body camera.

The video begins with Allen coming out of a house with her hands in the air. The officer orders her to put her hands behind her back, and as Allen turns around and faces a truck, the officer reaches for his cuffs, it’s then police say she struck the officer, the dark video showing hectic movements as the officer takes Allen to the ground, using harsh language.

The officer is then seen struggling heavily to turn Allen around and get her hands behind her back to arrest her. Allen screaming at the officer to stop.

They struggled, with a second officer coming in to help turn Allen around, finally cuffing her.

Las Cruces Police say the harsh language used by officers during the arrest has been looked into internally and dealt with.

The police department said they’re thankful none of the officers or Allen were injured.
