Reno Aces top Chihuahuas 6-5 Thursday to win series

The Reno Aces defeated the El Paso Chihuahuas 6-5 Thursday night despite two more home runs from Franmil Reyes.

Reyes has now hit two home runs in two consecutive games. On Wednesday, he became the first member of the Chihuahuas to hit multiple homers in a single game this season. He did it again Thursday night.

Reyes opened the scoring with a two-run shot in the bottom of the first to put his team up 2-0.

Reno would score the next five runs to take a 5-2 lead, but Reyes would later tie the game in the bottom of the eighth with another two-run blast.

It would not be enough though as Aces catcher Michael Perez delivered an RBI single in the top of the ninth that proved to be the difference.

Reno recorded its tenth win of the year and is now 10-18 while El Paso fell to 17-11.

The Aces took three of the four games in their series with the Chihuahuas. The Dogs wrapped up their nine-game homestand with just three wins and have now lost four of their last five games.

El Paso will play its next four games on the road at Albuquerque beginning Friday.
