Wife of homicide victim pleads to public for help

A family is heartbroken and is asking for your help.

Police say a little more than two weeks ago, 39-year-old Antonio Razo was slain in northeast El Paso near Quail Avenue and Railroad Drive.

Police are still looking for the gunman.

Razo’s wife — Ruth Marin told ABC-7 her daughter and Razo’s daughter were in the car when Razo was shot and killed.

“We went to pick up the kids because they were supposed to stay over for the weekend. We were going to go to the park, the water park,” Marin said.

Marin said their weekend plans changed after they nearly got into a accident with a speeding car in the area.

“These people just came right at us. They were almost going to crash us,” Marin said.

Marin said the driver of the car pulled ahead of them, stopped and didn’t move. She said Razo, not knowing what was going on, went up to the car.

“And they just started shooting at him and he just dropped,” Marin said.

Marin told ABC-7 her 18-year-old daughter and Razo’s 12-year-old daughter were stunned when they heard the gunshots.

“It happened so fast. I couldn’t believe it. I was just like screaming out his name,” Marin said.

Marin said her daughter and a Sun Metro bus driver tried giving Razo CPR.

“I was just holding his hand trying to talk to him so he could hear me,” Marin said.

Razo was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

Marin said Razo left behind three daughters and was a father figure to her own daughters.

“He was a very good husband, very good dad, very loving, very caring,” Marin said.

Now Marin is pleading to anyone who might have any information.

“Please, if you know anything, please help us find these people that did this to him,” Marin said.

Police said the car that left the scene was described as a white or silver sedan.
