Chihuahuas beat Reno Monday night on the road

Allen Craig went 3-4 with a home run and two RBI as the Chihuahuas defeated Reno on the road Monday night by a final of 6-3.

The Chihuahuas improved to 20-19 with the win, snapping a three-game losing streak. The Aces fell to 16-23.

Craig got the scoring started with an RBI single in the top of the second. His homer came in the top of the sixth, giving El Paso a 3-1 lead.

The Chihuahuas led 3-2 entering the ninth and proceeded to add three runs in the top half of the inning, holding Reno to one run in the bottom half to claim the victory.

The two teams will meet again in Reno Tuesday afternoon at 12:35 p.m. The Dogs will then have an off-day on Wednesday before beginning a series at home against Fresno at 6:35 p.m. Thursday.

The Chihuahuas were playing without slugger Franmil Reyes, who was called up to the Padres after hitting 14 home runs with El Paso in the early portion of the season.
