Rams claim former NMSU RB Larry Rose III off waivers

Former NMSU running back Larry Rose III is getting a chance with another NFL team.

The Los Angeles Rams have claimed Rose off waivers after he was released by the Tennessee Titans following a rookie mini-camp.

The Rams now have a full 90-man roster and won’t necessarily have to make any cuts until after the final preseason game. They will then select a 53-man team and a 10-man practice squad.

Rose III was not selected in this year’s NFL draft but now has a chance to play in the same backfield as Todd Gurley.

However, the Rams did select a running back in this year’s draft – John Kelly out of Tennessee. And Rose III will also face competition from Malcolm Brown.

Rose III rushed for 4,558 yards in his collegiate career, including 1,651 in a stellar sophomore campaign.

He also scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime in NMSU’s 26-20 victory over Utah State in the Arizona Bowl this past season.
