Report: New Mexico the 6th worst state with drug problems, Texas better at 37th
When ranking all the states, including the District of Columbia, on drug problems, New Mexico takes sixth on the list, according to WalletHub.com.
Texas ranked better at 37th place.
To get its data, WalletHub compared all 51 across 20 metrics, ranging from arrest and overdose statistics, to opioid prescriptions and meth-lab incidents per capita.

The area with the worst drug problems was Washington, D.C. Minnesota reportedly had the smallest amount of drug problems.
Despite this poor ranking, New Mexico is working to combat the opioid epidemic in the state. Doña Ana County is using a new kind of Narcan to reverse overdoses, called Noloxone. It’s a nasal spray that has already saved more than a dozen lives.
