Coming soon: IHOP to change to IHOB

The International House of Pancakes is undergoing a name change.

IHOP made the announcement online June 4, posting a video on Twitter that shows the lowercase ‘p’ flipping like a pancake (get it?) into a ‘b.’

The tweet accompanying the video read, “For 60 pancakin’ years, we’ve been IHOP. Now, we’re flippin’ our name to IHOb. Find out what it could b on 6.11.18.”

Another tweet is a poll of fans asking what they think the ‘b’ could stand for: Biscuits, bacon, butternut squash or barnacles. Bacon is coming out on top so far.

IHOP opened as International House of Pancakes in 1958 and took on the acronym IHOP in 1973, according to the company’s website.
