NFL players give supplies to recently released immigrant families in San Antonio

Images of undocumented migrant children separated from their parents at the border had an impact on two NFL players.

Washington Redskins Cornerback Josh Norman, New Orleans Saints Linebacker Demario Davis teamed up in San Antonio, Texas, Wednesday to buy supplies for those who were recently released from detention centers, according to our ABC affiliate KSAT-TV.

“You see kids on television get detained and how they are getting detained, and then they’re treated the way they are,” said Norman. “You want to come in and give a little bit of relief to those families.”

The two players stuffed the goods into backpacks then distributed them to families at an event led by the human rights group RAICES.

“We’re not going to be able to help everybody but somebody, we can brighten faces and that matters,” said Norman. “That means something.”
